Here’s who should’ve won Miss Seventeen
Jessica Velez totally should’ve won Miss Seventeen. She’s poised, articulate, absolutely gorgeous - and actually seems like nice person to be around.
You know, Jen had a hard life - whatever, lots of people do - but she broke down into tears every time she talked about it (near daily). To me, that’s not a role model.
Jessica, on the other hand, talked of her difficulties with pride in overcoming then, rather than tears. She’s obviously moved forward and learned from her experiences.
Atoosa writes, “Even though she found her voice through this competition, it’s clear to me that she still feels most comfortable expressing herself through her artwork. The role model I’m looking for in this competition is someone who feels very comfortable talking to you through the magazine and in one-on-one in speaking engagements at your schools and anywhere else she has the opportunity.”
Blech. Jessica was way more comfortable and friendly when they did the internship at “Seventeen” than Jen, and she did a wonderful job at when she gave her speech. I’m baffled.

i agree with you i think she should have one… although i watched 3 episodes of it.. i think shes true. theres no doubt she is beautiful, and true to her words and i agree that the fact that i think shes fun to be arounddd =D im proud of her

i feel that jessica should of won, she was absolutely gorgeous and mature. jen on the other hand is childish

Yeah i agree that jessica shoudl have won. I’m watching it on E! in the UK so we are a week or so behind the US, but come on, i wouldn’t want to listen to a young woman who cries all the time. Yeah okay we can’t all be gorgeous, but jessica’s shyness and ability to work as an intern with a constant smile is way better than someone who breaks down - who woudl aspire to be like that!?!?!
