Road Rules Returns
If it feels like forever since Road Rules was a regular MTV staple, that’s because, well, it HAS been forever.
I’m ready for more “adventures” and drama and potential new castmembers for the good ol’ RW/RR Challenge genre (I mean, Mark just “retired” and Timmy, though I love him dearly, is old enough to be my father).
Fortunately, MTV & Bunim-Murray Productions is ready too.
Buried in the newly launched web site of Bunim-Murray’s recently announced M Theory company, which exists to repurpose and develop new content for the Internet and mobile devices, there’s some news about Road Rules, which has been on hiatus for more than a year. It’s been so long that TV.com says the show has “ended.”
However, the MTV series “is being developed to return to the network in a newly designed format which will allow the viewer to play a role in both competitions and the fate of players via broadband and mobile technology,” the web site says.
Sounds like we will soon be in store for a new season where the cast will, hopefully, make it to the end to find their “handsome reward.”
