It’s Official - The Barkers are Dunzo

First Nick and Jessica, then Carmen and Dave and now MTV can add Shanna and Travis to their growing list of reality star divorces.  I have to say, I’m kinda bummed about this.  They were really cute together.  But let’s face it, how often do celebrity marriages actually work anyway?
US Weekly got the scoop:

Travis Barker and Shanna Moakler of MTV’s Meet the Barkers have decided to end their marriage of almost two years.

“I can confirm that Travis filed for divorce today but have no further comment,” says Barker’s rep, Dvora Vener.

“Shanna was caught completely by surprise,” a source close to the couple tells Us.

“She was trying to get him to couple’s therapy, but he wouldn’t go. He pretended he was working things out but screwed her over, leaving her with a baby daughter.”

Earlier this year, a source at MTV told Us that trouble in the marriage forced the network to cut short the 2006 season of Meet the Barkers. MTV reduced its order from 10 episodes to six due to the couple’s constant fighting and the fact that the crew had difficulty getting Barker and Moakler in the same room together.

Barker, 30, is the former drummer for the band Blink-182. Moakler, 31, is a former Miss USA 1995, Miss Rhode Island Teen USA 1992, and Playboy Playmate of the Month December 2001.

The couple married on Halloween of 2004 and have three children, a 2-year-old son Landon, 2, a 7-month-old daughter Alabama, and Moakler’s daughter, Atiana, 7, from a previous relationship with her ex-fiancé, boxer Oscar de la Hoya.
