Bam’s TV Guide Interview

by Shea on March 27th, 2007

I don’t know about y’all, but I just love that Bam Margera and his new bride, Missy.  So obviously Bam’s Unholy Union is one of my favorite MTV shows at the moment.  Watching Missy put up with Bam is a complete education in what patience should be.  I could use a little more of that myself.

Bam just gave a pretty cool interview for TV Guide.  Did ya know he wrote a screenplay and is developing a cartoon?  Check it out:

TV Guide: So how did you land such a nice, normal girl?
Bam Margera: I got lucky. I think the fact that she’s the complete opposite of me is what makes it work. She barely even drinks. She’ll have an olive martini at the bar and that’s it. I need to have 18 of them. I’ve known her since sixth grade. She knows what I’m all about.

TV Guide: Was your Las Vegas bachelor party as insane as it looked on the show?
Margera: I basically went on a three-day booze bender. I had a bowling alley, a pool table, a hot tub and a bartender on 24-hour standby! I didn’t even leave the hotel room. I woke up at 6 or 7 the first morning and my buddy Novak had three strippers on the coffee table. I was like, “Oh, my god, this is what I wake up to? I’m going down in flames, man!”

TV Guide: How was the honeymoon in Dubai?
Margera: It was awesome, but at the airport there, they strip-searched me and Missy, checking our [butts] for [drugs]. They didn’t even have gloves on! [The authorities] took out every one of Missy’s cigarettes and tapped out all the tobacco. I had a prescription of pills that my doctor gave me and they inspected every last one to find out what they were. It was insane. I’ve never been f–ked with like that before. I thought I was getting Punk’d again. I don’t know why they chose us.

Read more (it’s good!) after the jump!

TV Guide: Nick and Jessica, Carmen and Dave, and Shanna and Travis all had MTV series and ended up divorcing….
Margera: With all those relationships, it seems like they put their careers before their marriage. If doing a rock concert or a movie could benefit their career, then they’d do that before fixing their marriage. Missy has no desire to even be on TV.

TV Guide: Do you guys plan on staying in West Chester? No plans to move to L.A.?
Margera: No, I have no plans to move there. You can get caught up in the whole L.A. scene so bad. As far as I’m concerned, L.A. is in West Chester. I have 30 to 40 people running an office from West Chester to film me. Hollywood is here.

TV Guide: So will you and Missy do another season?
Margera: I’m totally ready to do it, but I wrote a movie with some friends and I’m doing [that first]. And [Brandon DiCamillo and I] have a cartoon [series] coming out. It’s basically Viva La Bam, but animated!

TV Guide: After so many hits to the groin, are you afraid you won’t be able to have kids?
Margera: [Laughs] I don’t think I’m ready for one right now. I can barely take care of myself. I don’t need some little kid running around trying to be like me. But I’m hoping if I did have one, it’d be a girl. I get along better with them.

TV Guide: Do you see the Jackass guys much?
Margera: I see [Johnny] Knoxville and Steve-O every time I go to L.A. And I see Jeff Tremaine a lot. But Ehren [McGhehey] and Dave [England] live in Portland, and I don’t really see Wee Man unless we’re filming.

TV Guide: Do you watch much TV?
Margera: I really don’t, but my wife is addicted to Lost and Sex and the City. We went to an Oscar party and she was like, “There’s Mr. Big!” I said, “Who the hell is Mr. Big?” I was too busy sitting next to Winnie Cooper from The Wonder Years! Dude, I had dinner with Winnie Cooper from The Wonder Years!

TV Guide: How’d she look?
Margera: She looked great! [Danica McKellar] is like some big-time math teacher or something.

TV Guide: When do you think you’ll finally say, “Enough with the stunts”?
Margera: Not anytime soon! I’m having fun doing it. [It’s] made me successful enough to get everything I wanted in life, so maybe growing up is a poor decision. [Laughs]

You seem like a huge Bam fan so i need your help! I was wondering if you knew the song that was played as Missy was waiting to walk down the isle? The only lyrics i got was “she’ll be running”. I love that song and can’t find out any where what it is! Thanks! Jayme

Does anyone know the song playing when Missy walks down the isle….not the one when the wedding party walks down the isle, I know that one is “Cannon in D.” I am planning a wedding and just fell in love with the song Missy walked down the isle to. It sorta sounded like the graduation song!!
