The Daily Word by Rev Run

April 30, 2007 by Shea Sylvia

Run’s HouseI absolutely love Run’s House.  It’s the modern-day, real life Cosby Show.  And I always love the very end when Rev Run lounges in his bubble bath and sends out his words of wisdom via Blackberry.

So, of course, when I found out that I could actually be on the other end of his inspirational messages, I totally jumped at the chance.

And so can you.  Just go to RevsWordsofWisdom.com and sign up!  You can pretend (like I do) that you didn’t sign up for it and are fabulous enough that Rev Run sends it out to you because of your undeniable coolness.

Here’s today’s message:

Good morning. Asking is the proof that you’ve conquered pride. In most
cases, asking causes us to become humble. You didn’t get into the program
you’re interested in??? Reapply!!!! (Remember!!!) Ask Ask Ask!!!!!  Ask
God, ask people, ask whoever!!  Asking keeps you humble. And that’s what
God wants…   Ask!!!!!!! :)
      God is Love
            Rev Run

When I first saw your show on T.V. I just remembered a day at the airport around 2001. I was on my way to the baggage claims to pick up my 3 year old daughter and her dad. My 2 year old daughter and I were on the down escalator when I saw who I believe was you REV. My question today is was that really you or your brother? I know it was a member of Run D MC. Because of course my X made sure that I was aware of the people around me. I had a one track mind that is, I really missed my baby.
REV, my second request is to be allowed to join your email family. I could use a mentor of some type. Maybe even Justine.
All in all, I would love to know if you were the man in the airport that left out with 2 or 3 Asian women executives and another man.

    Hello Rev.Run

I just wanted to say congrats to u and ur wife and family for allowing ur lives to be an open page to us all.

I know that ur show is a reality show, but my wife and I connect with u and ur family.

You and the Mrs. Can’t stop pushing and pulling u have young couples with blended families hoping to follow in ur footstep.

Thank you, ur book blessed me so much it allowed me to heal in areas that I didn’t want to expose, but I realized that truth and love in God is all u need to make it.

    Thank u so much.

God bless u all, never give up.

    Perry Price.

Rev there is so much I can say, it boils down to two simple words - thank you. I look forward to your emails everyday and my life has changed.

I signed up to Uber to get your daily emails - but it’s shutting down now - so where can we all subscribe? I hope there is a way!

    Love from London

I watch show after show for words of wisdom, however, I am a single mother to 2 beautiful children and am a fulltime college student, I can’t afford to pay for the daily quotes, but its ok, I still am inspired by being so blessed to be able to watch and learn from Rev Run and his awesome family! God Bless!!!

TO: “Another mother in Penn”s” comment on November 6th

It amazes me how you can sit there and blast on Rev Run and talk so much about his “position in society” but who are you to judge? You have the right to your own opinion and so do I, I feel that you are a hypocrite, you have nothing better to do but trash talk a man that has done nothing wrong to any of us but share his and his families life on everyday tv.
Billy Graham was of the same High Power and Position, but I didn’t hear you blast on him.
Rev Run is a Man of God, but still has to make a living, at least he isn’t out there telling people if they dont send him money right now they are going to hell! He isn’t forcing anyone to read his messages or watch his show, we all choose to because obviously we want to. I myself love to watch this family because I get to see how I am not alone on the everyday struggles of everyday life and hardships. People like you are why I haven’t been to church in a very long time, you think that just because he is a Rev that he is suppose to live like the Pope and he and his wife are so much in love with eachother and their family it motivates me to live the same way.
You, since you know so much about how everyone else is suppose to live, you sincerely should sit back and look at your own life before you judge ANYONE, it isn’t our place to judge, there is a Higher Power that handles that part, so my opinion on your comment that you wrote “trying to look all educated by your choice of words”, is simply that you may need to vocus on your life and your surroundings and how to make yourself and your loved ones around you happy.
Try watching a few more shows, I assure you that then maybe you will see the true reason why Rev Run and Justine do what they do.

    God Bless!

    Hi Rev,
I was wondering whether i could still recieve your words of wisdom from the UK? I love watching Runs House and think that you and Justine have done an amazing job raising such well mannered, respectful children. I’m from a single parent family and everyone i’ve ever known is divorced- so the truth is, i don’t really know or undertsand the concept of a nuclear family. So watching the show (however sad it sounds) teaches me alot about how to be a good wife/mother, how to discipline kids and set boundaries, what qualities could make a great husband/father etc. so thank you. Your message at the end always makes alot of sense in a clear ‘real talk’ way - you inspire me! thanks again!

    Michelle :-)

I love your show, you are all so down to earth! I feel like I know each and every one of you, because you relate to family members or friends of mine. I am grateful to you all for putting this show together, and for those wonderful words of wisdom from Rev. Run. Justine you are the coolest and most adoring MOM, and I take pointers from you when it comes to my children, you are both very wise parents! GOD BLESS YOU ALL!!! I look forward to watching all of you in the future. I am so excited about Daddy’s Girls premiere.

    Hi Rev,

I have been thinking about contacting you for a while, I have a really cool idea for a womans shoe. I have designed and made one, and I get compliments on them every time I wear them. I was wondering if you could tell me what I would need to do to get my shoe made? Thanks for your time.

While flipping channels I happened upon this show. Never heard of Rev Run before but has an interesting family. On the episode I was watching he made reference to “Hines” feet. In the bible it says, “He (God) make our feet like hines feet.” Hines feet are deer feet. Deer feet are designed to only walk or move in a forward motion. God has created us to continue to move forward, not backwards……Cool analogy…!!
