The Daily Word by Rev Run
I absolutely love Run’s House. It’s the modern-day, real life Cosby Show. And I always love the very end when Rev Run lounges in his bubble bath and sends out his words of wisdom via Blackberry.
So, of course, when I found out that I could actually be on the other end of his inspirational messages, I totally jumped at the chance.
And so can you. Just go to RevsWordsofWisdom.com and sign up! You can pretend (like I do) that you didn’t sign up for it and are fabulous enough that Rev Run sends it out to you because of your undeniable coolness.
Here’s today’s message:
Good morning. Asking is the proof that you’ve conquered pride. In most
cases, asking causes us to become humble. You didn’t get into the program
you’re interested in??? Reapply!!!! (Remember!!!) Ask Ask Ask!!!!! Ask
God, ask people, ask whoever!! Asking keeps you humble. And that’s what
God wants… Ask!!!!!!! :)
God is Love

I do enjoy your “words of wosdom” Rev. Run, however, I have say that I am disappointed that the only way to get a word of encouragement daily from you is to purchase a subscription of sorts. While I am a true believer of entrepreneurship, I do not think that sharing a word of encourangement or guidance is a good arena for cost connection. I had not heard of your word of the day until yesterday and I have greatly enjoyed the two that I received from a friend. While I can afford it and will subscribe, I wonder about others.
I am very proud that you are such a visible and REALISTIC force that our african community, particularly our young, can key in on. I feel that you have thier respect , therefore, allowing your words to hit thier core. A greatly needed asset these days. I really the real life aspect of your reality show and the things that you say. I recently bought your book and am in the process of reading it and plan to pick up Russell’s book as well.
I was quite touched and impressed when you recently said in connection with your families recent loss that even though it hurt you could not be mad at God, how could you be with all that you have. I thought, wow he has just exampled in the mist of great pain (I too lost a child in the 6th month of pregnancy and that loss is very different than any other I have ever been through) how to remain grateful and when to be even more aware of how grateful we should be in the mist of trials and pain. I thank you for that and for allowing that to be seen. I send my sympathies for your loss to you and your family.
Respectfully with Love,

Rev! Wow, I love your show. What an inspiration you and your beuatiful family are. I was actually interested in contacting Justine. I just wanted to tell her what a beautiful and strong woman she is. I think she is a wonderful mother and wife. I hope to be like her one day. Just from watching the show her love for you and your children is incredible. I saw the episode of the making of Angel. Wow.. that’s all I can say. That was touching. She needs to make more music! I would love to hear a whole cd from her and would be one to buy it as soon as it came out. She’d be like a Toni Braxton of today. Well Rev, keep up the great work of God. I am touched by you and yours. You are right Rev.. God is love.

Good Morning Rev,
Not knowing if you receive the comments or not, I will leave something here for you anyway. I have a thirteen year old daughter whom I charish and love. We find ourselves watching your show quite often. We talk about our lives and where we are and how we feel every single day. Your show proved a great deal to me being a single white mother of two. Thank you for showing me something I was not seeing and giving a positive spin of a not so positive world. So many families are not thankful and show such disrespect for others that as young adults; it is the “Adults” who are forced to continually educate because of their mis-doings. I would love to get your quotes but I am financially unable to at this point but keep them coming. Many blessings to you, your wife and children. You were/are in my prayers during your tribulation of life. Please continue to keep it real! Don’t forget to continually remind Russy that money is not everything =)….peace and love~God Is Love

Hi, I also agree that charging for a few words of wisdom is not good. I love the show and most of all i look forward to the end for the thoughts. I was trying to find them all online and found this site, but to pay for them is not in my budget. Oh Well!

Dearest Rev Run, and Justine
I have searched so very long to find a way to get in touch with Justine. From the very first show, I have wanted to thank the both of you for finally putting such a GREAT, family show on MTV, but, yet, and still, including your entire family, has allowed us all to include our families in sharing a weekly hour together, while watching your lives, and how you, and Justine have sucessfully managed to keep your family so grounded, even though each of you are still, so individually successul! What a wonderful example of Love and Family you have been to us all!!! I promise, I want nothing at all from you, but, the opportunity to meet Justine. I am pretty much confined to my home, 24hrs. a day, except for Dr. visits, which i fly to California once a month for. And, to play “taxi” for my beautiful daughter, Paige, who is 13, and her friends. I am ill with Lupus, Fibromyalgia, and have peripheal neuropathies, so it makes it even harder to get around walking etc..so, finding your show, was just another of the blessings that the Lord has given me to enjoy!! Before these illness’s, I had such an active life!! I am to be 46 on Nov.1. I served in the US Navy back in the 80’s. After which, I worked for a major airline for 10 yrs. After Paige was born, I had to have the cancer lasered from my cervix. Then, just a few months later, I found two different lumps in my left breast, so once again, I was down again. And lastly, just, again, a few months later, I had to have the polyps from my colon removed, as my Father passed from colon cancer. After these things, all of my joints started to pain me severely, and I was diagnosed with my current health problems. Sorry to bore you with all this, but I want you to know, that I am sincere, and honest. Like I said, from the first episode of your show, I KNEW that I have so much in common with Justine, and her philosophy of how to raise children, and home, and all of our short comings that still, allow us to appreciate all of our blessings!! I tell EVERYONE that I KNOW, that if Justine and I were to meet, that we would hit it off, and feel we have so much in common to be the best of friends.
Anyway, I would probably have an easier time winning the lottery, but, thought I would write, and ask you, if there is any way possible to meet Justine, i would fly to the end of the earth to have the opportunity. Due to my health, and the possibility of my illness progressing to death, i have informed my Hubby, John, and my Children, which total, I have 4! Three wonderful daughers, and one amazing son. Of my two wishes in life. One, is for Karen Whites “One Wish”, to be played at my funeral, and two, would be to have them find a way for Justine and I to meet, and have lunch or something, to just sit, and talk informally etc. Seriously! From what I am only able to see on your show, I honestly believe that we have so very much in common!
Anyway, sorry for taking up so much of your time! Please, write back if you can! And continue to allow us to watch you on your show! Know how much you all mean to us! Oh, and Justine, the fastest way to get in shape etc., is water aerobics!! I know, because I have gained a tremendous amont of weight, and did this before to lose it! I just need someone to go with my now, hint hint!! I have flight benefits, so can go anywhere just about!!

Good Morning,
I was watching your show the other day when a friend of mine came over to the house. She asked what my 14 yr old daughter and I were doing and we proceeded to tell her about the episode we were watching. She mentioned she does not allow her son to watch your show because she felt it was all about the money and that watching your show only added to your wallet in the long-run. She also but your family in the “gangsta” category by saying that ALL black rappers are about shoutings and violence and teach kids to be disrespectful. I asked her to sit and give me the remaining 45 minutes of the show. I explained to her what my understanding has been with watching your show. I gave her a few words of my own wisdom. I then sat back and allowed her to watch your show. She said nothing for 40 minutes. After the show was over, I got up and walked into another room, she started a conversation with my daughter. Asking her what her opinion of the show was. My daughter proceeds to tell her that today she learned that as child we are suppose to do well in school and that rewards should not come to us for things we are suppose to do. She said that accomplishing a great task does not always give you immediate material rewards but the feeling you get from doing for others when you have something to celebrate is the gift of all gifts. My daughter told her, a grown adult, that today, I give you this gift….a new opinion.
Needless to say I was all choked up. I know that we don’t always make the right decisions when it comes to our kids, but that day, I knew I had been a positive parent for my child. Thank you and your family for giving me a tool to help my child grow. Many blessings to all. God loves you and so do I~!

Additionally, that I have an authentic Hollis Crew Addidas Sweatshirt from 1986! It looks great and the color is still vibrant.

I think it is totally disgusting how so many people are fooled by this “fake” reverend (I won’t even give enough respect to capitalize the rev. part). How in the world can a man of God sell words of wisdom whether in a book or via e-mail, or be connected with a scandalous ministry (Zoe Ministries) that professes to tell people their daily prophecy for no less than 3,000 (Nothing more than a modern day fortune teller!). Oh, and if that weren’t enough, they even offer prophecy school for another couple of thousand of dollars. What the rev, and his family are doing is selling themselves– Nothing More. Need proof, well I think a newly released record and book for Joey, a new shoe & clothing line for the girls sprinkled with an acting role on guiding light for vanessa, an upcoming record deal for JoJo, and a jewelry venture/rap career/R&B singing deal for Justine about sums it up. All I have to say is Get money if that is what you do– but don’t misuse the Ministry and pretend to reprepresent God to do it. Pure and simple– its blasphemy!!!!

We are all representing God, everyday. Whether we write words of widom or talk with our children. We are the ones who have given them their opportunity to be famous. What they choose to do with it is their following. Because they have worked hard to get where they are and have many successful businesses they can not speak the word of God? The show is not about the teachings of God, it is about the teachings of life. And in this society that we share in the United States, we are not given many positive moments to share with our children. I guess you would prefer watching crime scene investigation shows that teach the viewer how to committ the perfect murder. What we need in this is to remember that we as parents teach our children to be positive role models and stop focusing on negativity. That is common ground for any words from God.

I want to know how much it would cost to feature Rev Run on a track? The track is called “Help the World Change” I have the Financial backing, and have put of 2 labels that are interested in adding me to their line up of artists to keep my own label going. (Unity Recordz) I am in Cincinnati Ohio, and I am a X-hustler who is a so called Street Christian Native American Rapper. What a combo… : ) Getting a hols of Rev is harder that one would think. I even Made a trip to Saddle River with Bootsy Collins son and got turned away from from Mr. Russell Simmons. I Dont blame him, I was unanounced. : ) I thought he might respect me for my courage and drive. Or my stupidity : ) but ya never know untill you try!!! Reguardless all I want is to Ryme with the best, The Rev!!! 513-235-3641 Like I said ya never know untill you try : ) God Bless all who reads this!!!!!!! Action…

Dear Rev, My name is Ash, im 19 years old and I need help for my heart to finally heal. Iam an unusually happy person, nothing really bothers me when I know I have God on my side but in NOVEMBER of last year I LOST my GRANDMOTHER IN A FIRE. I have had dreams that she is calling for my help and my family for the most part has found peace but what can I do to help my mother especially. sHE SEEMS FINE BUT i KNOW THAT SHE WONT FORGIVE HERSELF NO MATTER HOW MUCH SHE MAY RELY ON OUR LORD. Rev I know the you have dealt with loss before but why does it seem as if a piece of my heart was buried with my passed love ones?
